Gold Coast 2020 Budget: Full list of funding in each suburb

The Northern Gold Coast Suburb Budgets have been released by each division councilors and it looks like the Northern Gold Coast Divisions are the Winners!

DIVISION ONE:

  • $40.6 million for the Pimpama Sports Hub
  • $255k for a culvert refurb at Hotham Creek Rd in Willowvale
  • $2.3 million for a bridge reconstruction on Kerkin Rd in Pimpama
  • $2 million for the reconstruction of Old Pacific Rd in Yatala
  • $4.1 million for the reconstruction of Alto Terrace in Yatala
  • $1.4 million for the duplication of Yawalpah Rd in Pimpama
  • $4.1 million to upgrade Tillyroen and Upper Ormeau roads
  • $996k to install traffic signals at Yawalpah Rd and Gawthern Dr
  • $400k to install traffic lights at Mirambeena Dr and Creek St in Pimpama
  • $560k for Yawalpah Road Bridge construction
  • $720k for construction of a missing section of footpath on the southern side of Rifle Range Rd from the Heights Blvd to the Pimpama Sports Hub
  • $250k for construction of a missing section of footpath on the northern side of Creek St in Pimpama
  • $60k for construction of a 250m missing section of footpath on the southern side of Elliston St and eastern side of Rockwood Dr and Kikivan Dr
  • $120k for construction of an 800m footpath on Mirambeena Dr
  • $100k for construction of missing sections of footpath on Pimpama Jacobs Well Rd
  • $60k for construction of a 180m footpath on Lumeah Ave in Pimpama
  • $80k for works around Pimpama State High School to improve pedestrian and cyclist safety
  • $120k for works around Ormeau State High School to improve pedestrian and cyclist safety
  • $120k for works around Mother Teresa Catholic Primary School to improve pedestrian and cyclist safety
  • $21,433 for Woongoolba Pool asset renewals
  • $35,700 for an upgrade to Dixon Reserve Park
  • $1.2 million to upgrade site entry to Stapylton landfill
  • $7.9 million for upgrades to Division 1 sewerage infrastructure
  • $410k for water mains works at Stapylton Jacobs Well Rd

  • $30k for Discovery Park Tennis Club

  • $20k for the SYC Watersports Club Public Amenities renovation
  • $20k for bollards and signage at the Damian Leeding Memorial Park
  • $40k for a shade sail at Oxenford Park
  • $20k for a shade sail investigation at Banksia Park Hope Island
  • $20k for tree planting at Sickle Park Hope Island
  • $10k for investigation into a tennis site at Sicke Park

DIVISION THREE:

  • $150k for providing shade over playgrounds in Hetchy Park, Reserve Rd and Stephens St Park and Finnegan Park
  • $260k for park upgrades
  • $150k to upgrade the old Oxenford Fishing Club to relocate the Scouts and Girl Guides to the John Siganto Park precinct
  • $50k for community events to be expanded into local parks and undertake street tree planning
  • $245k in roads and infrastructure funding
  • Flashing School Zone lights to be installed at Coomera State School, St Joseph’s College and the new Foxwell State Secondary College
  • $15k for Active & Healthy programs
  • $5k for Naturally GC environmental initiatives
  • $93m over four budget periods to start work on the Coomera Civic Hub
  • Traffic signals on the intersection of Amity Rd and Foxwell Rd, as well as a shared pathway along Foxwell Rd from Learning St to connect to the Oaky Creek Rd Foxwell State Secondary College path
  • Seed funding for Coomera Soccer and Coomera Crushers for planning around provision of new amenities/female change rooms and additional construction funds available
  • $35,118 in discretionary funding (community donations) open to forthcoming application process
  • Christmas and New Year celebrations at local parks and decorations at various locations
  • ANZAC Day services at Tamborine Oxenford Rd and Upper Coomera Centre

DIVISION FOUR:

  • Airconditioning for Paradise Point Community Halls
  • New deck for the clubhouse at the Gold Coast Game Fish Club

  • $362k for metered signals on the Binstead Way/Pacific Pines Blvd roundabout in Pacific Pines
  • $75k for signal refurbishment on Gilston Rd/Cayuga St in Nerang
  • $75k for signal refurbishment on New Street/Cayuga St in Nerang
  • $940k for a shared pathway on Glade Dr and Helop Rd in Gaven
  • $70k for a shared pathway on Gilston Rd in Gilston
  • $120k to plan cycle and pedestrian improvements at William Duncan State School in Highland Park
  • $80k to plan cycle and pedestrian improvements at Pacific Pines State School
  • $90k to replace the bioretention basin on Lowe Crt in Maudsland
  • $306k, plus $150k in divisional funding to expand The Hub community centre in Pacific Pines
  • $184k for renewals to the Nerang Pool, plus $23k for new equipment
  • $100k for renewals to the GC Cycle Centre, plus $15k for new equipment
  • $738k, plus $10k in divisional funding, to add a water playground to Country Paradise
  • $300k to replace the shed at Country Paradise
  • $15k, plus $15k in divisional funding, for irrigation planning at Bischof Park
  • $10k in divisional funding for riparian vegetation restoration at Crane Creek
  • $20k in divisional funding for riparian vegetation restoration in the Nerang River’s upper catchment area and Guanaba
  • $20k in divisional funding for Stage 1b of streetscaping, taking the total funds from $243,742 to $263,742
  • $57k in divisional funding for road verge landscaping on the Gaven arterial road in Maudsland
  • $20k in divisional funding for Community Corridor planning of an arterial road corridor in Pacific Pines

DIVISION SIX:

  • Commitment to acquire 100 per cent of the Ridgeway TAFE site to be maintained for public active space and future community centre
  • $2.4m contribution to the construction of a super yacht berthing facility at Southport Yacht Club in partnership with the State Government
  • $5.3m to progress Stage 3B of the Broadwater Parklands redevelopment including the upgrade of Washington Waters
  • $2.8m for maintenance of the Broadwater Parklands including turf maintenance, landscaping, park assets (BBQs, seating, etc) and repairs
  • $586k to deliver the Music Action Plan and support live music venues such as in the Southport CBD to create a vibrant music sector
  • $9.7m to upgrade and renew Council administration buildings, including the Southport Chambers
  • $12.5m to continue the expansion of Sundale Bridge to five lanes
  • Assessment of all Div6 local parks to determine upgrade strategy of all residential parks over the next four years
  • Masterplan of the Ridgeway TAFE site
  • Bob Huth park playground update
  • Gazebo at Sunvalley Park

DIVISION EIGHT:

  • $650k towards further projects in Carrara’s Emerald Lakes Parklands, including:

  • $40k for playground and park improvement plans in Highland Park and Mudgeeraba
  • $48k for shade, fencing, seats and bollards in parks
  • $35k in discretionary grants (formerly divisional donations)
  • $15k for park and suburb signage in Reedy Creek and Mudgeeraba
  • $20k for a Christmas tree refresh
  • $40k for landcare and Active & Healthy programs
  • $30k for designs for a new Lower Beechmont community building
  • $119k for community events including Anzac Day, Christmas Carols, Mudgeeraba Street Party, Summertime Sessions & Paws at the Park, plus others

DIVISION TEN:

  • Completion of the Surfers Paradise and Chevron Island Master Plan and interim refresh of Cavill Mall
  • Woodroffe Ave, Main Beach – Viewing Platform
  • Surfers Paradise Rugby League – Lights on the oval and carpark drainage
  • Active and Healthy Program
  • Federation Walk tree scaping and maintenance
  • Divisional Donations – opening late 2020 to sports and community organisations
  • Funding for sports clubs and community organisations projects post coronavirus (COVID-19)
  • Allocation to support local business with events to attract customers to the local areas

DIVISION ELEVEN:

  • $1.2m to begin construction for the Rocket intersection upgrade
  • $240k to finalise design work for the Scottsdale Dr and Robina Town Centre intersection
  • $70k to upgrade the Scottsdale Dr and Bayswater Ave intersection
  • $49k to deliver intersection safety improvements at Cumberland Dr and Silvabank Dr
  • $785k for three new signalised pedestrian crossing at Laver Dr, across Cheltenham Dr and at Varsity College junior campus at Christine Ave and Bridgewater Dr
  • $80k for a brand-new Bridgewater Dr frontage footpath
  • $50k to design a brand-new pick-up and drop-off area on Assembly Dr
  • $670k to deliver 1.2km of footpaths around Robina Town Centre
  • $50k on new footpath linking the stadium and Promenade precincts
  • $10k to design a two-metre wide footpath along Bermuda St
  • $8.27m to begin construction on Robina City Parklands
  • $540k for a new amenities block, lighting, tree planting and more seating at the Varsity Lakes Foreshore Parklands
  • $70k for a brand new exercise facility at Jack Wilson Reserve Park
  • $6500 for access improvements at Meridien Park on Azzura Island
  • $57k for park renovation at Gabriels Park
  • $116k for new tree lighting and architectural landscaping along Ron Pelhaligon Way
  • $187k for carpark expansion and renewal of Varsity Lakes Community Resource Centre
  • Funding to reconstruct the carpark of the junior cricket club
  • $35k made available to support volunteers and community groups through the competitive donation program
  • $50k for facility renovations and master planning for those leasing council assets
  • $106k for events throughout the year

DIVISION THIRTEEN:

  • $15.5k for a pedestrian refuge/traffic island on 11th Ave Palm Beach and Cnr Towson Ave
  • $33k for street tree planting on Ninteenth Ave in Elanora between Angelica and Saffron
  • $9.6k for street tree planting along Celebes Ave in Palm Beach between Waikiki and Tahiti
  • $85k for irrigation and to returf Ronnie Long Park
  • $6k for bench seating with park and path extensions at the beach access on Third Ave in Palm Beach
  • $75k to supply and install three light poles with LED luminaries, trenching conduit, line marking and signage for 15 car parks including a disability bay at Bill Thompson Park on Murtha Dr in Elanora
  • $7.9k for tables and benches, snakes and ladders/checkers settings in Gossi Park
  • $33.7k for a footpath on the northern side of Damson Pl in Elanora, with community consultation to occur before tree removal
  • $35k for Div13 Christmas Decorations 2020-21
  • $5k for Div13 Engineering Investigations 2020-21
  • $30k for Active & Healthy programs
